A new downtown district

The Miollis Citadel

Situated in the heart of Ajaccio, the Citadelle Miollis has undergone constant transformation over the years. Occupied by the military until 2020, it is now owned by the property of the Town of Ajaccio.
The town's wish was to open up this heritage site to Ajaccians and holidaymakers alike, as well as to the Genoese town, the Ajaccio region, Corsica and the Mediterranean.

An innovative approach has been put in place for 2021 to activate the Citadelle: open it up before and during its transformation. transformationThis will enable us to tell the story of the project to the people of Ajaccio, and launch an artistic and creative dynamic around it. Archaeological excavations, decontamination, accessibility and the development of public spaces will all be carried out at the same time as the Citadelle is activated, with the proposal of cultural, event and economic activities.
