Parata peninsula under the snow

#1. Put on your snowshoes...

When winter knocks on the door, we wait for the snow to arrive. Yes, it snows in Corsica in winter!
As soon as the first flakes appear, we put on our snowshoes and set off on snow-covered hiking trails.

Worried about finding your way through the snow? Follow our partners, they'll show you the way...

#2: We're going up to Ese...

In winter, it's not uncommon to hear "This weekend we're going up to Ese". We're referring to the ski resort Val d'Ese, the closest to Ajaccio (just an hour's drive away). Sledging, cross-country skiing, snowshoe trekking... these are just some of the activities on offer (even when the resort is closed).

All with a view of the sea and the Gulf of Ajaccio!

#3. Celebrating A Madonuccia...

March 18 is an important date in Ajaccio. The town celebrates Notre Dame de la Miséricorde, its patron saint.
The evening before, candles are lit and placed at the foot of the statue of the Virgin (Place Foch).

If you look up, you can see candles glowing in windows and balconies...

#4. Bearinades on the beach...

The Mediterranean climate allows us to enjoy sunny winter days.

Head for the beach to enjoy a "oursinade" with family and friends... A little trip to the market to buy everything you need for your picnic...

#5. Tasting the products of winter...

Lower temperatures are the perfect excuse for comfort food. And there's no shortage of that here!

There's nothing like a good pulenta accompanied by a good brocciu and a fried egg...
