As the year draws to a close, it's time to take stock and imagine what the new one has in store for us.
Let's rewind and reminisce together about the highlights of 2023 in the Pays d'Ajaccio...

We celebrated Tino and Napo, the children of Ajaccio

While Petit Papa Noël may resonate during this period, its creator, Tino Rossi, has been in the spotlight throughout 2023. 40 years ago, this child of Borgu, who became an international artist, passed away. The town of Ajaccio wanted to pay him a tribute worthy of his career. Concerts, exhibitions, film screenings... we were able to (re)immerse ourselves in the world of Tino...

We celebrated Napoleon Bonaparte, another Ajaccio native with an exceptional destiny. In addition to the traditional Journées Napoléoniennes (August 13-15) dedicated to him, the Emperor was also in the spotlight in November for the release of Ridley Scott's film Napoléon. The city's cinemas gave this event an imperial welcome.

We welcomed 600 bunnies

The "Pop in the City" urban tourist raid chose Ajaccio for its first edition in Corsica. During this all-women's race, the competitors (i.e. the "popeuses") discovered our region through sporting, cultural and artistic challenges. In the space of a day, they learned how to clap, were introduced to polyphonic singing and also abseiled down the ramparts of the citadel... They left with plenty of memories and a few aches and pains...

We took up the pen

Spring saw the launch of our quarterly magazine "Ici & Là en Pays d'Ajaccio". Our editorial team shares its seasonal favorites and not-to-be-missed events. Come and see us to pick up the winter edition from our holiday advisors. Find the 4 issues of the year here.

We tasted wine (in moderation)

We look forward to seeing you on January 20 at the Citadelle for the 2024 edition of St Vincent!
